Abstract
The present study discusses supply chain disruptions and the building of resilience in Hungarian and Czech automotive firms. The authors analysed the effects of the pandemic through interviews with company representatives from both countries and mapped the reactions, measures, and strategies of their firms. They designed the analytical framework using the literature on resilient supply chains. The results confirm that every company (all of whom were given state support) experienced losses and disruptions as a result of the pandemic. The firms applied several resilience-building measures that – in line with those discussed in the literature – appeared to improve agility, information flows, and cooperation. The measures varied according to the position of the companies in the supply chain.
